Start the pooja

Keep a calm mind and concentrate on Shreekrishna. follow the below steps. Each step has instrcutions and audio. Read the instrcutions,(Or let someone do it for you) and play the audio while following the instruction.

Sit straight, join hands to do Namaste, and think of Ganesha, Mother, father, and Shreekrishna.

Aachamana : Take a spoonful of water into your right palm and sip it. Do it three times.

Once again, take a spoonful of water and drop in into the plate below..

Take a little Chandana(Sandalwood powder) or Kumkum and wear it on your forehead. Now you look devine!

Take a little akshata(colored rice) in your hand, join your hands to do Namaste, and keep thinking of the Lord.

Pour that akshata(rice) onto the idol/photo of Ganesha.

Take some akshata(colored rice) and a Tulasi leaf in your left palm, add a spoonful of water to it, cover it with your right palm. place both these hands like on your right thigh. look at the image for reference.

Sankalpa mudra

Utter your name and your Moonsign and zodiac(if known). Also take the names of your family members.

Repeat each word after me, in the following audio. If you can't follow, just say "mama" and listen to me.

Take the akshata and tulsi into your right palm, add a spoonful of water to it, and drop it into the plate below

Offer Chandan(sandalwood powder), turmeric, kumkum, flowers and akshata (colored rice) to lord Ganesha (Idol, photo or coconut on a rice-filled plate. whichever you have arranged).

Pray that the pooja be completed without any obstacles.

Apply a little Chandan(sandalwood powder) onto the pooja bell, put some akshata (colored rice) on it. Ring the bell for a few seconds.

Put a spoonful of water onto the floor below, and put some turmeric and kumkum followed by a flower onto it. Pray to Mother Earth.

Put some akshata(colored rice) onto the Asana(Mat or wooden slab on which you are sitting).

Put some turmericand red(kumkum) to a flower, and offer that flower to the oil lamp. Join hands to do Namaste, Pray that the pure knowledge be ours!

Take a Tulsi leaf and a flower. apply some Chandan(sandalwoodpowder) to it, take some akshata(colored rice) with it and put all these inside the water pot. Cover the water pot with your right palm.

Take a flower, dip it inside the water pot to make it wet, themn sprinkle that water on all pooja materials gathered and the place around.

Wash the Shankh with water, apply chandan(sandalwood powder), a tulsi leaf, and a flower to it.

Take some akshata(colored rice) and throw that into the decorated seating you've arranged for the lord. Where there is Shreekrishna, all other Gods such as Indra, Agni etc., come and take place at various parts of his seating!.

Now we start the Main pooja.

Take some akshata(colored rice) and a Tulsi leaf in your hands, join both hands to do Namaste, close your eyes, and heartfully think of devine form of Shreekrishna.

Take some akshata(colored rice) into your hands and put that upon the idol

Take some akshata(colored rice) into your hands and put that onto the plate on which you've placed the idol.

Take the spoon full of water, and pour that onto the feet of lord Shreekrishna's idol.

Take the spoon full of water, and pour that onto the devine hands of Shreekrishna's idol.

Take the spoon full of water, and pour that upon Shreekrishna's idol.

Take a glass full of water, and wash the idol with that. Empty the plate in which you bathed the idol, and place the idol again.

Now we bath Shreekrishna with Panchamrutham. If you don't have Panchamrutham, you can

Take the milk bowl and bath pour the milk upon Shreekrishna.

Pour a spoonful of water upon Shreekrishna.

Take the curd / yogurt bowl and bath pour the content upon Shreekrishna.

Pour a spoonful of water upon Shreekrishna.

Take the ghee bowl and bath pour the ghee upon Shreekrishna.

Pour a spoonful of water upon Shreekrishna.

Take the honey bowl and bath pour the honey upon Shreekrishna.

Pour a spoonful of water upon Shreekrishna.

Take the sugar bowl and bath pour the sugar upon Shreekrishna.

Pour a spoonful of water upon Shreekrishna.

Take a spoonful of water, add some chandan(sandalwood powder) to it, and bath it to the lord.

Take the bowl which has fruit slices. Add some water to it. Bath it to Shreekrishna.

Once done, take the idol into your hands. Transfer the bathed Panchamritam into a large bowl or container. Wash the idol thouroughly. Wash the plate as well. Place them properly as before.

Take a glass full of water. Holding the spoon in your right hand, keep putting a spoonful of water upon the idol (keep bathing the idol). Refill the glass when needed. You may chant any mantra or song that you know of Shreekrishna, or you may play the below audio.

Once done, again take the idol into your hands. Empty the plate. Place the plate and the idol as before.

Offer the clothing to Shreekrishna. If you have plain cloth, you may fold it and put around the idol, or present it at the idol's feet, or put it up anyway which makes it look beautiful!

Offer the Janayu (Thread) to the lord. the circular thread is offered in way that it comes diagonally upon the body. Over the left shoulder of the lord, and below the right arm.

If you have any ornaments to offer, you may offer them now. Or else, put some akshata (colored rice) upon the idol.

With your fourth finger(Ring finger), take some chandan (sandalwood powder) and apply it to the forehead of the lord.

Put some akshata (colored rice) onto the lord.

Offer a Tulsi, and flowers to the lord. You mauy decorate Shreekrishna with vivid flowers.

Now take Tulsi leaves in a plate and keep it handy or hold in your left hand. I will take 108 names of Shreekrishna. For each name, offer one Tulsi leaf to the lord with your right hand. If you don't have those many tulsi leaves, you may use flowers, flower petals or akshata (colored rice).

Put some akshata (colored rice) onto the idol, join both hands to do Namaste.

Light two Incense sticks. hold them in your right hand. hold the bell in your left hand. while ringing the bell, circle the incense sticks clockwise infront of the lord.

Place the incense sticks safely in its stand or somewhere safe.

If you have a small oil lamp, light it and hold in your right hand. Show it to the lord as you did with incense sticks. It's okay if you don't have one.

Place all the Prasadam / food offerings you have for the lord infront of the lord. Take some tulsi leaves. Add a spoonful of water to those leaves and sprinkle that water on all food items. place onde Tulsi each upon all food materials.

Take a few flowers and add a spoonful of water to them. Circle them three times above and around the food items clockwise. Then offer those flowers to the lord. Join hands to do Namaste and pray the lord to recieve the foods you've offered.

Place two betel leaves one upon another, facing up, infront of the lord. place an areca nut upon them. put a spoonful of water upon them.

Light the Arati ( or the wicks you've placed in a plate). Show them to the lord while ringing the bell, as you did with incense sticks. after Arati, light the camphor and show that as well. While doing Arati, you may sing any mantra or song of Shreekrishna or just play the below audio.

Wash your hands or wetten them with a spoonful of water. Hold a few flowers and tulsi leaves in your hands and join both the hands. Pray.

Pradakshina : Join both hands and turn yourself clockwise three times. Then, do namaskaram by laying down facing down, touching your forehear to the floor.

Take a flower and akshata(colored rice) into your right hand. Add a spoonful of water into them. Drop only the water into the plate and offer the flower and akshata to the lord.

Join the hands, Pray to the lord that "I'm unaware of doing various types of worshipping and pooja. I've done a little service that I'm capable of, and you please be pleased with it"

Knowingly or unknowingly, a lot of mistakes and mispronunciations happen during a pooja. As an atonement, we take the names of the lord. Repeat after me in the next audio.

Join both the hands and pray for good health, prosperity, Lord's blessings and all other things you may want to ask.

Once the pooja is over, you may do some additions Bhajan(singing), Japam(chanting) or other activities. Once all those are over, put some akshata(colored rice) upon the idol.

Aachamana : Take a spoonful of water into your right palm and sip it. Do it three times.

Once again, take a spoonful of water and drop in into the plate below..

Now you may eat the foods offered to the Lord as Prasadam and share it with others as well. You may also drink Panchamritham, which you prepared after bathing the lord.
